Mindtree Placement Experience

Mindtree is a midsize IT service, IT consulting company which can be a dream company for many for its excellent training program for freshers and thus provides a great learning opportunity.

The campus recruitment of Mindtree consists of the following rounds:-

 Aptitude
 Programming Test
 Technical Round
 HR

Aptitude test is conducted by AMCAT, It consists of three sections viz. Quant, Logical,Verbal. The level of difficulty was easy, Practicing example problems from RS Agarwal is enough to crack this.
In Quant the main topics were:

 Logarithm
 Profit and Loss
 Surds and Indices
 Time and Distance
 Time and work
 Boats and Streams
and few questions from other topics as well.
Verbal section was quite easy ,it consists of questions mainly based on synonyms, antonyms, error correction ,comprehensions, choosing eligible candidate etc. In verbal section, make sure you save plenty of time for comprehensions, as there will be chain of question based on that, and it requires proper understanding. Coming to the choosing eligible candidate, a candidate details will be provided and a portfolio with its criteria will be given, Based on the candidate details you need to assess the eligibility of the candidate.

Logical Section was a bit tricky (at least for me :P),it had questions mainly based on series, finding relations and other common concepts.
In AMCAT aptitude, there's no going back to previous questions, every time you need to submit the answer and proceed for the next. Before you start the test the various sections, along with the number of questions allotted for each and their respective time constraints will be mentioned, Analyze it well and manage your time accordingly.
Second round was the programming test, In which you need to code two programs in 1hr. The level of difficulty was moderate, The various programs that had come for our batch were- Rotation of a matrix by different angles, Printing alternate numbers in a series in ascending order, merging two series in a particular pattern etc. Out of two programs ,coding one correctly and getting partial output for the second can also help you to clear this round. This is a major elimination round ,so make coding your practice and focus on the logic part mainly , The probability of getting placed depends mainly on this round.
In Technical Round you will be asked to code a program, along with that they may ask questions based on program you got in programming test, other than that there will be questions on C++, pointer concept in C, and if you're mentioning java ,be prepared thoroughly for any questions.

HR is just a formality, where they ask simple questions like :
 Why MINDTREE?
 Tell me about yourself?
 Your Hobbies?
